Ty’n Rhos, means something like ‘House on the Heath’. If this brings to mind images of Emily Brontë characters… those were the other moors. Farther north. Worse weather. Ours are much nicer.

All kidding aside, Ty’n Rhos is a truly unique Wales country house set in the rolling foothills of Snowdonia. These foothills have become a magnet for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds, as well as to those who prefer their lavish landscapes to be framed in a picture window somewhere they can get fine-dining dinner, a hearty breakfast and a civilised cup of real tea and coffee.

Ty’n Rhos Country House Hotel Snowdonia

Though now one of the finest country houses in Snowdonia, Ty’n Rhos originally started life as a farmstead which has evolved far beyond its humble origins into what it is today.

Ty’n Rhos Country House is graded as 5-star Guest Accommodation by Visit Wales. As the house stands now, it boasts 19 bedrooms, a large conservatory, a comfortable lounge, cosy bar and an elegant dining room providing delicious meals, freshly prepared, using locally sourced products. All of the immaculately kept en-suite bedrooms are individually styled with quality furnishings. Some rooms overlooking the rear garden offer wonderful views towards Anglesey, and many of the ground floor rooms boast a private terrace or garden.

The house also offers a few thoroughly modern conveniences as well, including ample free car parking and complimentary Wi-Fi in all areas.

The property is owned by the Murphy family who are experienced hoteliers that built their skills and reputation with Farthings Country House in Somerset. Today, they bring that expertise to Snowdonia – a familiar place for both generations who holidayed in this area for many years. They continue to deliver the highest quality accommodation, as well as superb freshly cooked breakfasts and dinners, in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.

 

Our Location

We are located on the open plain just 6 miles from Snowdonia National Park, 5 miles from both Caernarfon and Bangor, and 3 miles off the A55 express-way. We are just a 5-minute drive from the Menai Bridge for Anglesey.

This makes Ty’n Rhos a great base for short breaks in Snowdonia, and an ideal location to travel or sight-see throughout North Wales. However, we are just a little out of the way – allowing us to offer a very quiet and peaceful setting where you can relax, unwind and enjoy the rural location and the views of open farmland surrounding the property.
